A Love Sonnet to Jennifer

Starry eyed and samely crossed,
As lovers we decry,
If only our sweet love was lost
to harsh society.
Alas, it is not that which keeps
our two souls in twain.
Nature has us overlooked
to bestow on one some part.
Community no longer scorns
a consummation thus.
Instead, my conscience mourns
There is no joy in a lustless type of lay.
What pleasures would we reap if only we were gay.

it got my vote. sorry no one else in hap has any taste. i think a suitable accompanying image would be 'the kiss'... not Klimt's but that monochrome photograph of two lovely ladies in t-shirts and panties smooching on a bed. mmmm art
